William Walker Thacker

William Walker Thacker, age 88, of Corbin, passed away on Wednesday, January 15, 2014 at Baptist Health Corbin.
Born in Scott County, Virginia, he was a WWII U.S. Navy veteran, and a member of First Baptist Church in Corbin.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Retha Maxine Claxton Thacker; parents, Jay Thacker and Arlena Allen Fultz; and sister, Lena Mae Harrison.
He is survived by his children: William Thacker II and wife Lisa of McKee, Judy Curtis and husband Lonnie, Sandra Thacker, and Michael Thacker, all of Corbin; grandchildren: William Thacker III, Stephen Thacker, Rachael Thacker, Joel Thacker, Alex Thacker, and Christopher Curtis; and two nephews, all who mourn his passing.
Funeral service will be at 1 pm on Saturday, Jan. 18th, at Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home with Rev. Paul Sims officiating. Burial will be in the Corinth Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 12-1 pm on Saturday, Jan. 18th, at the funeral home.
