William Henry Owens, age 81, of Woodbine, Kentucky, passed away on Thursday, June 25, 2026, at Baptist Health in Corbin, Kentucky.
Born in Corbin, Kentucky, on April 9, 1945, Henry lived a life full of vigor, joy, and a deep sense of service. He was a Baptist by faith.
Henry was preceded in death by his son, Darrell Owens; parents, Charlie and Rosie Collins Owens; sisters, Jorene Gregory, Marty Carter, Margo Poff, and Fay Hart; brothers, Kevin, Tommy, and Ed Owens; former wife, Angeila Mahan Owens; and by his grandson, Landon Westerfield.
Henry was a man of many hats - a devoted father, a US Army Veteran of Vietnam, and a skilled mechanic. Henry had a passion for fixing things; he loved working on lawn mowers, weed eaters, and his old truck.
He is survived by his children; Karen Owens of Woodbine, Johnny Westerfield of Lily, and Tamatha Monhollen of Woodbine; grandchildren, Raymond William Owens (Casey) of Barbourville, Kayla Sue Owens of Georgetown, Kristan Monhollen of Texas, Steven Monhollen and Anthony Monhollen of Woodbine, Tiffany Monhollen of Siler, KY, Zachary Westerfield of Florida, Sabrina Westerfield of Corbin, Jonathan Westerfield of Woodbine, Amanda Westerfield of Harlan, and Jonathan Lowe of Corbin; brothers, Kenneth and Leland Owens; sister, Judy Black; and by many great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and friends.
Visitation for Henry will be held from 6-8pm on Sunday June 28, 2026, at the Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home. His funeral service will be held at 2:00pm on Monday June 29th at the Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home.
Burial will follow in the Hart Cemetery, Moore Hill in Corbin, Kentucky.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to help with expenses. To make a donation, please call or stop by the funeral home office, or you may make an online donation by selecting the donate icon. The family will be given a list of all who have donated.
