William Clifford Sams

William Clifford Sams, 79, of Corbin, passed away at his residence on Sunday, May 10, 2015.
Born in Place, KY, he was a son of the late Josiah and Lillie Mae Hill Sams. He was also preceded in death by a son, Donald Wayne Sams.
William was a serviceman for Delta Natural Gas. He was a U.S. Army veteran and had been a radar operator.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Donola Leisure Sams; two children, Rhonda Sizemore (Tim) and Cheryl McCracken; grandchildren: William Sams, Melissa Gorman, Mikeal Sams (Anna), Timothy Sams (Melanie), Jessica Sams, Travis Sizemore, Amanda McCracken, and Macayla Sizemore; great-grandchildren: Ayla Ann, Robert, Nolan, Leo, Elizabeth, Bella, and Kylie; five siblings: Wilma Noe, Arthur Sams, Faye Mercer (Bob), Hubert Sams (Margie), and JoAnn Keith (Philip); and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, May 13, at the Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Sams Hill Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm on Tuesday, May 12th at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the St. Jude Hospital.
