Sylvester Eaton

Sylvester "Bud" Eaton, 90, of Corbin, passed away on Tuesday, Oct. 23, 2007 at the Oak Tree Hospital in Corbin.
Born in Whitley County, he was a member of the Greenland Baptist Church and had been employed by the Pennington Block Co.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Link and Susie Eaton; his wife, Gladys Bertha Eaton; son, William Edward Eaton; and several brothers and sisters.
He is survived by his son, Bobby Lee Eaton and wife Rosetta of Rockholds; daughter-in-law, Gennie Eaton of Corbin; three grandchildren, Jaime Eaton and wife Jennifer of Mt. Vernon, Ginger Downs and husband Brian of Williamsburg, and Kelly Whitaker and husband Jeff of Lowes, Kentucky; 10 great-grandchildren: Austin and Jenna Eaton; Tyler, Trent, Trevor and Toby Downs; Matthew, Makayla, Mark, and Mason Whitaker; special neighbors, Donnie and Carolyn Lloyd, Linda Mullins, and Judy Jordan; special friend, Georgia Elliott; and numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends, all who mourn his passing.
Funeral services will be held at 11 am Saturday, October 27, 2007, at the Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home with Rev. Bobby Joe Eaton officiating. Burial will be in the Corinth Cemetery.
The family of Sylvester "Bud" Eaton will receive friends from 6-9 pm Friday, Oct. 26, at the Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home.
