Shirley Jarboe Tunstall

Shirley Jarboe Tunstall, age 89, of Corbin, Kentucky, passed away on Sunday February 22, 2026, at her home in Corbin.

Born in Tell City, Indiana, on July 22, 1936, to the late James and Jessie Speaks Jarboe, Shirley's life was a testament to her strength, love, and devotion to her family and community. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Donnie Tunstall; husband, James Tunstall, and by her siblings, Betty Pendleton, Bobby, and Billy Jarboe.

Shirley was a homemaker by trade, but her true vocation was serving others. She was a devoted member of Liberty Baptist Church. Shirley's life was a testament to her strength, love, and devotion to her family and community, she worked tirelessly for the residents in the Dowis Chapel and Woodbine communities. Her passion for gardening mirrored her passion for life, nurturing and cultivating both with an unwavering commitment.

She is survived by her loving grandchildren, Jamie Tunstall and Jason Tunstall; great grandchildren, Bentley, Peyton, Lucy, and Tyler; and by a special nephew, Jim Lee.
