Ruth O. Dillion

Ruth O. Dillon, age 97, passed away on Thursday, June 19, 2025, at Laurel Heights in London, Kentucky.

Ruth was born on September 16, 1927, in Gray, KY. Ruth, a woman of unwavering faith and kindness, led a life filled with joy, love, and service. A dear wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Ruth was a beacon of love and warmth in many lives. She was a cherished member of the First Baptist Church in Corbin, Kentucky.

Ruth spent her professional life as a bookkeeper for the former Piggly Wiggly in Corbin.

She is survived and will be dearly missed by her daughter, Connie Ormsby (Steve); granddaughters Lynn Fiechter (Ben); Carrie Valentine (Nate); her great-granddaughters, Frances Fiechter, Betsy Fiechter, and Cate Valentine; great grandson, Nate Valentine; numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews; and by the Winsome Sunday School Class and her Lunch Club and Special Friends.

Ruth was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Dillion; parents, Oscar and Phoebe Helton Harris; sister, Geneva Ksiazek (Edward); brother, Rufus Harris (Kathleen); and her nephew, Kenneth Ray Harris.

Visitation for Ruth, will be from 11am until 1pm on Wednesday, July 2, 2025, at the Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home. Her funeral service will follow at 1:00 p.m. with Rev Alex Lockridge officiating. Burial will follow in Cumberland Memorial Gardens in Lily, Kentucky.  The Winson Sunday School Class and special friends will serve as Honorary Pall Bearers.
