Roy L. Givens

Roy L. Givens, age 90, of Corbin passed away on Saturday January 10, 2015 at his home.
He was a US Army Veteran of World War II where he served as a paratrooper in the 101st Airborne Division and participated in the Normandy invasion on D-Day. Mr. Givens was also a Mason.
Roy was preceded in death by his Daughter, Rhonda Givens Archer; his Parents, and by his brothers and sisters.
He is survived by his loving Wife, Alma Ramsey Givens; Sister, Louanna Whitaker Ratliff; Children, Robin Givens Archer; Jerry Lynn Givens; Effie Glyndon Givens; and William Lee Givens; Seven Grandchildren and several Great Grandchildren.
Funeral service will be held at 2:00pm on Tuesday January 13, 2015 at the Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home with Rev. James Hodge officiating.
Burial will follow in the Slusher Cemetery with Military Honors.
