Roena Jeanette Patterson

Roena Jeanette Patterson, age 84, of Corbin, Kentucky, passed away on Monday January 12, 2026, at Baptist Health in Corbin.

Born on October 31, 1941, in Laurel County, Kentucky, she was a woman of resilience, grace, and immeasurable love, touching the hearts of those she encountered with her kindness and warmth.

Her true joy came from her family and the precious moments she spent with them. She was a devoted wife to her beloved husband, James Patterson, and she found immense pleasure in spending time with her grandchildren, creating memories that will forever remain etched in their hearts.

A woman of faith, Roena’s spiritual journey was deeply personal. In her younger years, she enjoyed visiting many churches in the area, enriching her connection with her faith. She was a beacon of light, illuminating the path for those around her with her positivity and unwavering faith.

She was preceded in death by her son, James Ray Patterson, and by her parents, Raymond and Octavia Baker.

Roena is survived by her loving husband, James Patterson; children, Clint Doan (Pamela), and Virginia Farris; grandchildren, David Doan, Samantha Doan, Macie Doan, Maddox Doan, Logan Farris, and Brett Farris; great grandchildren, Isaiah, Eden, Izabella, Qynn, Winnie, Braxton, Damon, Kellin, Isabella, and Ethan; and by her siblings, Ray "Otis" Baker and Shirley Siler.

Visitation for Roena Patterson will be held on Thursday January 15, 2026, from 6 - 8 pm at the Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home, where her funeral service will be held at 8 pm, with Rev. Buster Patterson officiating.
