Rodney Ray Barton

Rodney Ray Barton, 74, of Corbin, passed away on Monday, October 6, 2014, at Knox County Hospital in Barbourville.
Born in Knox County, Rodney had worked as a coal miner. He played football at Corbin High School and for UK when he was a freshman.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Ruth Clark Martin; father, Harold Barton; and by two infant brothers.
Rodney is survived by his longtime companion, Anita Combs; son, Kevin Barton and his wife Dawn; and by special lifetime friends, Ernest and Wilma Wagoner.
Funeral service will be at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 10th, at Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home with Rev. Bobby Joe Eaton officiating. Burial will be in the Dowis Chapel Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 12-1 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home.
