Regina R. Emberton

Regina R. Emberton, age 57, of Rockholds, KY, passed away on Thursday, January 1, 2026, at Baptist Health Corbin.

Born in Fort Thomas, KY, she was the daughter of the late Brenda Rose Mosley. Regina believed in making the most out of life, especially when it was spent with the people she loved. She enjoyed traveling, sharing good food, listening to George Strait, savoring a good glass of sweet tea, and cheering on UK Basketball. She loved 4-wheeling alongside the love of her life, Derek, and cherished slow, quiet moments spent with her granddaughter, Violet, who brought her endless joy.

In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by the father of her children, Timothy Boyd Emberton, and his mother, Marie Wood; uncle, Barry Lynn Rose; and her aunts, Barbara Anne Rose McClain, and Betty Jane Rose Carmen.

She is survived by her husband, Derek Matlock; children, Cody Emberton and wife Tracy, and Brynn Emberton; granddaughter, Violet Lucile “Lucy” Bishop; sister, Renae Steinbach; nieces, Sarah Hutton, and husband Joshua, and Katie Steinbach; their children, Spencer Scott Hutton, Gracelyn Renae Hutton, Jayden Robert Carlson, and Natalie Raine Hutton; bonus daughters, Hannah Grisell and Sophia Matlock; and a host of cousins and friends who will forever treasure her memory.

A celebration of Regina’s life will be held from 1:00–3:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 10, 2026, at Harvey’s on Main, 115 S. Main St, in Corbin, KY.
