Phyllis Brown Vanover, age 75, of Corbin, KY, passed away on Saturday, July 11, 2026, at Baptist Health Corbin.
Born in Knox County, KY, she was the daughter of the late Ed Brown and Eula Mae Brown. Phyllis worked for many years as a hairstylist at JCPenney before retiring.
Phyllis had a wonderful sense of style and loved jewelry, making jewelry, getting dressed up, and finding the perfect outfit for each day. She brought color, personality, and joy wherever she went and was a bright light to everyone around her.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald Vanover, and her brother, Howard Brown.
She is survived by her daughters, Melanie Johnson (Ron) and Melissa Kincaid (Dennis Miller); grandchildren, Emma Johnson, Korbin Johnson, Jared Felts, Kyle Wilson, and Kendra Bain; great-grandchildren, Gracie, JJ, Addison, Wolfgang, and Isla; and her sister, Gewayne Taylor.
In accordance with Phyllis’s wishes, cremation will take place, and she will be laid to rest beside her husband at Calvary Cemetery in Corbin, KY.
