Marilyn Ann Carter, age 76, of Woodbine, Kentucky, passed away at Baptist Health in Corbin, Kentucky on Wednesday, November 12, 2025.
Born on September 2, 1949, in Wilton, Kentucky, to George and Fay Miles. She was affectionately known by her loved ones as "Mammy". Marilyn was the embodiment of compassion, a loving mother, a cherished wife, a caring sister, and a doting grandmother. To her family and friends, she was more than just a homemaker; she was the heart of the home.
Marilyn had a heart as big as her faith. Her devotion to the Lord reflected greatly in the way she cared for every animal, and her beautiful family, especially her grandchildren who were her pride and joy. She'll be remembered as what the family can only explain as "the greatest of all time."
Marilyn is survived by her dear husband, Randall Carter; her devoted children, Gerri Bryant and Randy Carter and wife Trish; her cherished grandchildren, TJ Carter, Nathan Bryant and Samantha, and Julia Bryant, also a great-grandson, Boston Bryant; and her dear sisters, Kathy (Kenneth) Helton and Helen (Mike) Bennett and a host of nieces and nephews along with many family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Fay Miles.
A graveside service will be held at Terrell Cemetery in Woodbine, KY on Friday, November 14, 2025, at 2:00 pm with Rev. Daniel Terrell officiating.
Arrangements are entrusted to Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home. Messages of condolence may be written to the family at vankirkgrisellfuneralhome.com
