Magdalene Engle Schlaf

Magdalene Engle Schlaf was born on March 4, 1936, in Lee City, Kentucky to Chester and Oma Engle. Magdalene, who resided in Taylor, Michigan, passed away on September 27, 2025, at the age of 89. 

Dear sister of Ellen Custard (Don) and Earl Engle (Jean). Dearest aunt of James, Sandra, Shannon, Robert, Cindi, Heidi, Samantha Jo, Bobby Joe, Wendy Jo, Melissa, Theresa, and Christianne. Magdalene was preceded in death by her parents, Chester and Oma Engle, her husband DeWayne Schlaf, her brothers Chester Engle Jr. (Carol) and Bobby Joe Engle (Eve), and her nephew Gary Engle. Also survived by many other loving family and friends.

Visitation Saturday, October 4, 2025, from 3:00-8:00 p.m. at the Taylor Chapel of Voran Funeral Home, 23750 Goddard Road. (313) 291-1800. 

Funeral service Saturday, 5:00 p.m. at the funeral home. 

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. at Rest Haven Cemetery in Corbin, KY.
