Kenneth Eugene Roberts

Kenneth Eugene Roberts, age 73, born in Letcher County, Kentucky passed away peacefully on September 11, 2026, leaving behind a lifetime of memories and a family who loved him deeply.

Ken was a man who could best be described as stoic, stubborn, and wise. He was strong in his convictions, never afraid to stand his ground, and possessed a wisdom that came from a lifetime of experiences. While he may not have always been one to say everything he felt, those who knew him knew how deeply he loved his family.

Ken was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend. His children and grandchildren held a special place in his heart, and he took great pride in the family he built.

Ken proudly served his country as a United States Army veteran. His service and sacrifice will forever be remembered and honored by his family and those who knew him.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory:

His beloved spouse, Emma Roberts.

His children: Andy Roberts, and his wife Gina; Jason Roberts; Emma Denise Barnard and her husband, Jordan; Sabrina Oldrieve and her husband, Neil; Ray Kinder; and Beth Kinder.

His grandchildren: Blake and Andrew Roberts; Jace Roberts; Alaina, Aaron, and Abigail Barnard; Hailey and Dillon Kinder; Joseph Heim; Breasia Chesser; and Destiny Arens.

His great-grandchildren: Jonah Chesser and Jaxon Arens.

He is also survived by his brother, Doug Roberts, and his wife, Robin, along with his uncle and aunts, Denny Roberts and his wife, Michelle; Sandra Jenkins; and Connie Garrett, as well as numerous extended family members and friends who will forever cherish his memory.

Ken was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Harvey Eugene Roberts and Bessie Greer; his child, Stacy Roberts; and his grandchildren, Samantha and Megan Freeman.

He was also preceded in death by a number of beloved aunts, uncles, cousins, and other family members who were important parts of his life.

His greatest legacy was his family. Through his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, a part of him will continue to live on for generations to come.

He will be remembered for his quiet strength, stubborn determination, wisdom, and, most of all, for the love he had for his children and grandchildren. The memories he created, the lessons he taught, and the mark he left on the lives of those around him will never be forgotten.

Though Ken may no longer be here to watch his family grow, his love will continue through every generation that carries his name, his stories, and his memory.

Visitation for Kenneth will be held from 12 - 2 pm on Wednesday, September 16, 2026, at the Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home, 607 Master Street, Corbin, KY. His funeral service will follow at 2 pm at the Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home, with Rev. Sam Buchanan and Rev. Dillard Cupp officiating.

Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery, Knox County, KY, with Military Honors.
