Kathy Smith Hubbs

Kathy Smith Hubbs, age 65, of Corbin, departed this Earth on Monday, January 14, 2013, to be with her Heavenly Father. She was a nurse since 1968, and co-owner of ABC Daycare. Kathy is preceded in death by her parents, Willis W. Smith Jr. and wife Kathleen. She was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church.
She is survived by her son, Jacob W. Pennington and wife Brenda; two grandchildren, Army Specialist David Wayne Pennington and Kathleen Jade Pennington; cousin, David O. Smith and wife Marcia and their children and grandchildren; a very special cousin, Bonnie Kellems of Corbin; niece, Amy Scott and husband Nick and their children Ashley and Hayden; nephew, Dr. Todd Stokes and wife Tabitha and children; special nieces, Sarah and Laura Pennington; very dear friends, Tommy and Sharon Muncy of Oakridge, TN; and a host of family and friends that will mourn her passing.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Jan. 19, at Trinity United Methodist Church on the corner of 11th and Kentucky St., from 2-4 pm. Graveside service will be held at Corinth Cemetery following the memorial service.
In lieu of flowers, Kathy requested donations be made to the Knox/Whitley Animal Shelter, as she leaves behind her beloved pets to her family.
