Kathy Sue Hinkle Carver

Kathy Sue Hinkle Carver, age 65, of Corbin, KY, passed away on Tuesday, August 19, 2025, at her home.

Born in Corbin, she was the daughter of the late Ernest Hinkle and Dolly Storms Hinkle. Kathy worked for many years in home health and in the dietary department at Baptist Health Corbin, where she was known for her dedication and care.

She enjoyed life’s simple pleasures, including watching wrestling, The Andy Griffith Show, and Gunsmoke. Feeding her birds brought her great joy, and she especially treasured the time she spent with her family.

Kathy is survived by her son, David Carver, Jr.; daughter, Chassity Napier; granddaughters, Hannah Carver and Eionna Napier; brothers, Vernon Hinkle, Billy Hinkle, and Danny Hinkle; sister, Patricia Speidel; and the father of her children, David Carver, Sr.

Her visitation will be held from 12:00–2:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 23, 2025, at Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home, where her funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m.

Burial will follow at Dowis Chapel Cemetery in Woodbine, KY.

In lieu of flowers, the family is accepting donations to assist with expenses. All donations will go toward assisting with expenses, and the family will receive a list of donors.
