Judy Engle

Judy Engle, age 82, passed away on Saturday, May 17th, 2025 in Greenwood, IN. 

She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Roger Engle of Fairland, IN, daughter Sherri Engle of Greenwood, IN, son, Raleigh Engle of Franklin, IN, daughter-in-law Kristy Engle; granddaughters Camille, Aubrey, Allissa, Ashley, Ava and grandson Jesse; and her sisters, Mary Lou Baker of Corydon, IN and Wanda McKinnon of Eufaula, AL. 

Judy was predeceased by her parents, Charles P. LeForce and Dolores Hill LeForce of Corbin, KY, sister Eleanor Martin of Las Cruces, NM, and brother Charles H. LeForce of Corbin, KY. 

She grew up in Corbin, KY, attended Cumberland College, and taught school for many years. Most of her career was committed to Acton Elementary, having taught fourth grade. She was a dedicated teacher and an asset to her students, colleagues, and her community. 

Judy was a devout Christian who attended church faithfully and gave generously to her church, family and friends. She leaves behind a legacy of frugality, generosity, and compassion, especially for those in need. She lived simply so that others could benefit from her profits and shared them with many charities. She was dearly loved, and will be dearly missed. 

There will be a Celebration of Life on Thursday, May 22, 2025, from 2:00 pm until 5:00 pm at Indiana Funeral Care, Greenwood Chapel. 

Burial will be Friday, May 23, 2025 at 1:00 pm at Candle Ridge Church Cemetery in Gray, Kentucky by the Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home in Corbin, Kentucky.
