Joyce Petersen

Joyce Petersen, age 79, of Woodbine, Kentucky, passed away on Sunday, January 25, 2026, at Baptist Health in Corbin, KY.

She was born in Bessemer, Alabama, on March 3, 1946.

She is preceded in death by her husband, James "Pete" Petersen, and a son, Timothy Petersen.

Joyce devoted her life to her family. As a loving wife and mother, making their house a home was her primary role. She cherished time spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her sons, James(Mary) Petersen, Jeff Petersen, Tom(Lisa) Petersen, and Kevin Petersen; a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and many family and friends who will forever cherish her memory.

The family will hold a Celebration of Life on Saturday, February 7, 2026, at 1:00pm, at the Tri-County Elks Lodge in Corbin, Kentucky.
