Johnny Fox

May 16, 1950 — August 15, 2025

Johnny Allen Fox, 75, of Corbin, Kentucky, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, August 15, 2025.

Born to Hubert and Loretta Fox on May 16, 1950, Johnny spent his life deeply rooted in the community he loved.

Johnny’s life was one of deep love, infectious humor, and profound transformation. He was known for his quick wit, playful dancing, and his ability to make anyone smile.

Family was at the very center of Johnny’s heart. He shared a lifelong bond with his brothers and sisters. Johnny made sure to stay connected, checking in, lending a hand, and celebrating life’s milestones together. His love for his family extended across generations, creating a strong and lasting sense of togetherness.

Whether he was watching a UK Basketball game, cheering on Dale Earnhardt Jr. in a NASCAR race, or catching up with friends through a game of BINGO at his community home, Johnny found joy in life’s simple moments - and he shared that joy freely.

For many years, Johnny worked at Forest Products, where he dedicated himself until his retirement. But his most important work was outside any job title - caring for his family, loving his friends, and living out his faith. In his later years, Johnny’s story became one of radical change, grace, and devotion to God. He then committed his life to sharing the love of Jesus with everyone he met.

Johnny was a faithful member of Poplar Grove Baptist Church, where he served with a willing heart. He often arrived early to ensure the gate was open for parking and took pride in making sure things were ready for the congregation. His quiet acts of service and his warm presence were a blessing to all who worshiped alongside him.

Johnny was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Patricia Fox; his parents, Hubert and Loretta Fox; and his sisters, Shirley Rutherford, Beulah Rutherford, and Judy Fox Lawson.

He is survived by his daughters, Kimberly Green and Wanda Wallace; his granddaughters, Whitney Hollis, Amber Damron, and Rachel Wilson; and his great-grandchildren, Nathaniel Hollis, Benjamin Hollis (who affectionately called him “Poppy”), and Loren Damron (who lovingly called him “Poppa”).

On his final day, Johnny was still thinking of others - making sure his loved ones were cared for and ensuring there was laughter throughout the day, just as he always had.

He leaves behind a legacy of laughter, love, authenticity, and faith that will be carried on by all who knew him.

A celebration of Johnny’s life will be held at Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home in Corbin, KY, on Sunday, August 17, 2025, from 11 am - 1 pm, officiated by Bobby Joe Eaton and Victor Bramlett.  All who knew and loved Johnny are welcome to honor his enduring legacy of faith, kindness, and joy.

Burial will follow at Pine Hill Cemetery in Corbin, Kentucky
