Joan Jackson Washam, age 86 of Corbin, Kentucky, departed from her earthly home to be with her Lord on December 1, 2025.
Joan was born on August 6, 1939, in Lake City, Tennessee, to the late Charles Edward and Johnnie (Queener) Albright. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Fred C. Jackson and James H. Washam, as well as her brothers, John Albright, Murrel Albright, and Sid Albright.
Joan is survived by her children, David B. Jackson (Delores), Suzanne Jackson Riddlebarger (Edwin), and Paul C. Jackson (Michelle). Grandchildren: Jarrett Jackson; Cheyanne and Colter Riddlebarger; Lauren, Madelin, Ashleigh Jackson (Jackson Turner), and great-grandson Gordon Turner.
She is also survived by her stepchildren, Mark Washam (Kathy), Martha Treadway (Jim), and step-grandchildren Ryan Washam, Katie Reis, and James, Hannah, and Joseph Treadway.
Joan graduated from Lake City High School in 1957 and earned her degree from Eastern Kentucky University in 1998. Since 1980, she was an involved member of Central Baptist Church, serving in numerous ministries such as Sunday school teaching, worship orchestra, Mathew Ministry outreach, and working in the nursery.
Visitation with the family will be from 10:30 a.m. until 12:00 noon on Saturday, December 6, 2025, at Central Baptist Church. Funeral services will follow the visitation with Brother Josh Pollett officiating. Interment will follow at Cumberland Memorial Gardens.
