Jessie Dean Childers

Jessie Dean Childers, age 90, of Corbin, KY, passed away on Monday, September 15, 2025, at Baptist Health Corbin

Born on March 11, 1935, in Knox County, Kentucky, Jessie liked to quilt, raise a garden, and was a lover of the great outdoors. Jessie was a factory worker with Certain Teed in Corbin.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Lawrence and Dessie Carter Engle, her children, William Helton, Rita Helton Hibbard, and Timothy Helton, her former husband, Terry Helton, and her siblings, Delana Engle, Wayne Engle, and Barbara Gambrell.

Remembering Jessie, are her son, Roger Helton, grandchildren, Timothy Scott Helton (Katie), Candi Mangon (Doug), Bill Helton, Brandi Helton, Dana Terrell, Crystal Terrell; great-grandchildren, Matthew Morgan, McKenzie and McKaylee Helton, Dylan Westerfield, Tori Helton, Josh and Ryan Mangon; special friends, Joyce Bowling, Helen Canada, Ronnie Helton, Herman Gray.

Visitation for Jessie will be held at Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home on Friday, September 19, 2025, from 12:00 - 2:00 pm, followed by her funeral service at 2:00 pm., with Rev. Dr. Keaton Smith officiating.

Burial will follow at Dowis Chapel Cemetery in Woodbine, Kentucky.
