Jerry Calvin Roark, 74, of Corbin passed away on Wednesday, March 8, 2017 in Corbin.
He was a son of the late Calvin C. and Artie Boggs Roark, born to them at Big Laurel, KY. A brother Daniel Roark, grandchildren Leah Roark and Lucas Southern, and great granddaughter Ariel Roark also preceded him in death.
Jerry was a U.S. Army veteran and worked as a logger. He loved his work along with doing mechanical repairs and watching John Wayne films. He belonged to the Church of Jesus Christ in Harlan County.
Survivors include his wife of more than 41 years, Jan Roark; children: Terrence Roark, Kimberly Harrison (Scott), Tony Roark (Mary Ann), Amanda Southern (Rob), and Crystal Lunsford; 11 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren; brothers and sisters: Mary Edwards, James Roark (Marilyn), Russell Roark (Lilly), Pamela Glisson (John), Neal Roark (Sandy), Garrett Roark (Janeen), Martha Irene Roark, Mike Roark (Robin), Pat Turner (Mark), and Dee Collier (David); many nieces, nephews, and other family members; and special friends Milton and Connie Floyd.
Jerry's family will receive friends from 6 until 9PM Friday at Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home. His funeral will be there at 11AM Saturday with Pastor Pete Rowe officiating.
Burial will follow at the Roark Cemetery at Keavy, with military honors by the DAV Chapter 158 honor guard.
