James Taylor Shumate

James Taylor Shumate, age 84, of Corbin, passed away on Sunday, February 10, 2008,  at Oak Tree Hospital in Corbin.
He was a Coal Miner and a member of Rockholds Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his Parents, Ison and Annie Cross Shumate; two Step-Daughters, Betty Napier and Joann Watson; two Brothers, Bill and Chester Shumate.
He is survived by Five Step Children: Robert Baker, Jessie Ledger, Emily Dye, Brenda Baker and Rosezella Watson; three Brothers, Ernest and Austin Shumate both of Corbin, and Harold Shumate of Ohio; and by Several Nieces, Nephews, Family, and Friends.
Funeral service will be at 11am Tuesday, February 12, 2008, at 11am at the Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home with Rev. Earl Tye officiating.
Burial will follow in the Perkins Cemetery
Visitation will be on Monday, February 11, 2008, from 6-9pm at the Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home.
