James Wesley Davis, age 61, of Corbin, KY, passed away on Tuesday, October 28, 2025, at his home.
Born in Corbin, KY, he was a hardworking and loyal man who cherished life’s simple pleasures. For 16 years, James worked as a forklift operator at Aisin Automotive, where he took pride in his work and was known for his dependability and good spirit.
An avid fisherman, he loved spending time on the water and found peace in Kentucky’s quiet lakes and streams. He also enjoyed riding motorcycles and watching racing. A true jack of all trades, James could fix or build just about anything. Above all, he loved his family deeply. His 35-year marriage to his wife, Donna Jean Davis, was built on love, laughter, and devotion—a bond that will be forever cherished.
He was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Samantha Grace; brother, Bill Hensley; brother-in-law, Charles Liebl; and nephew, Timothy Lindsey.
James is survived by his wife, Donna Jean Davis; children, Tasha Larsen (Blake) of Corbin, Keith Sager (Jessica) of South Carolina, Amber Davis of Corbin, and DeeAnna Moses (Jason) of Corbin; grandchildren, Summerville, Abigail, Landyn, Reagan, Turner, Liam S., Skyler, Haylee, Dalton, Gunnar, and Liam L.; mother, June Carpenter; brother, Jerry Hensley (Nicole) of South Carolina; sister, Carol Green (Bobby) of Indiana; brothers-in-law, Terry Edwards, David Edwards, and BJ Cagle; sister-in-law, Renita Liebl; several nieces and nephews, and a special family friend, Pam Felts.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 1, 2025, from 1:00–3:00 p.m. at Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home, where his funeral service will follow at 3:00 p.m. with Rev. Willard Creech officiating.
