Gladys Joyce Griffin

Gladys Joyce McClain Burchett Griffin, age 74, of Corbin, passed away on Tuesday July 20, 2021 at Baptist Health in Corbin.
Born in Lee County, Virginia, she was a daughter to the late Wilson McClain and Barbara Dingus McClain. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Levi Burchette; and siblings, Kyla McClain, Deborah Owens, David McClain, and Bobby Joe McClain. Gladys was a homemaker who loved copying scriptures, crocheting, and playing Nintendo. She is survived by her children, Larry Burchette (Christina), Donald Burchette, Gary Burchett (Angela), and Linda Rose; Grandchildren; Phillip Burchette (Mogan), Bethany Montgomery (Steven), Kevin Burchette, Courtney Wells, Gary Burchett Jr., and Jeremy Sharp; great granddaughter, Phoenix; siblings, Donnie McClain (Brenda), Scotty McClain (Cathy), Shirley Painter, Earl McClain, Gary McClain (Mossie), Barbara Jean Steele, Rhonda McClain, and Judy Day; and by a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends who will mourn her passing. Visitation will be from 6-9pm on Friday July 23, 2021 at the Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home, 607 Master Street, Corbin, KY; where messages may be written to the family at vankirkgrisellfuneralhome.com Funeral Service for Gladys Griffin will be held at 2pm on Saturday July 24, 2021 at the Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home with Rev. Jim Cook officiating. Burial will follow in the McHargue Cemetery in Laurel County.
