Gillis Terry Laws

Gillis Terry Laws, age 52, of Flat Lick, KY, passed away on Saturday, June 13, 2026, at Barbourville ARH Hospital.

Born in Pineville, KY, he was the son of the late James Laws and Beulah Gambrel Laws. Gillis enjoyed the outdoors and could often be found fishing or root digging, activities that brought him both peace and happiness. More than anything, he cherished spending time with his family, especially his nieces and nephews, who held a special place in his heart.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Laws, and his niece, Amanda Hamilton.

He is survived by his sister, Carol Hamilton and husband Ray; nieces and nephews, Adinna Alcorn, Ryanlee Hamilton, Constance Hamilton, and Gabriel Hamilton; great-nieces and great-nephews, Skylynn, Malachi, and Cage; brother, David Scott; loving cousins, Dewayne North, Gracie North, and Katherine North; stepdaughter, Omia Roark; and a host of cousins and friends who will miss him dearly.

In keeping with Gillis' wishes, his family has chosen to honor his life privately and celebrate the memories they shared together with those closest to him.
