Gerald Gene Morris, age 73, passed away on Monday November 27, 2023, at the UK Medical Center in Lexington, Kentucky.
Born in Fort Knox, Kentucky, he was a retired foreman with the Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad. Although he was born in Kentucky, he was originally from Washington State, and was a longtime fan of the Seattle Seahawks. Gerald loved his family especially his grandchildren. Throughout his life, he enjoyed the outdoors, camping, and traveling with his family; however, his favorite pastime was watching western movies.
Gerald was a son of the late Clarence Sylvester Morris, and Lottie Culdwell Reip and Pete Reip. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Ronald Dale Morris and Jimmie Dean Mooris Sr. and his wife Christina, nephews, Jimmie Dean Morris Jr., Jon Larson, and Michael Larson, and by his brother-in-law, Lavern Sattelberg.
He is survived by his loving wife of 22years, Wanda Milton Morris, children, Brett Siler (Cortney) of Apison, TN, Dawn Allen (Steve), and Hollie Howard (Aaron) all of Corbin. He was "Papa G" to his grandchildren, Kyler Allen (Grace) of Colorado, Mallory Allen, Chloe Siler, Tanner Siler, Baker Siler, Landon Howard, Brooks Howard, Lainey Howard, and Blair Howard, all of Corbin, sister, Sharon Sattelberg of Holly Springs, NC, brother, Johnny Morris (Margaret) of Bellingham, WA, sister-in-law, Carol Morris, and by his nieces and nephews, Brain Morris, Candice Morris, Catrina Wilson, Ronald Morris Jr., Daniel Morris, Christoper Morris, Camden Morris, Colin Morris, Catira Dahm, Cala Robbins, ret US Army Ryan Sattelberg, and Major Eric Sattelberg, US Army.
His visitation will be from 4-5pm, on Thursday November 30, 2023, at Immanuel Baptist Church, 720 Browning Acres Road, Corbin, Kentucky, where his Memorial Service will be held at 5pm.
