Eric Brian Isom

Eric Brian Isom, age 45, passed away on Monday, July 6, 2026, at St. Joseph Hospital in Lexington, Kentucky.

Born in Barbourville, KY, on September 11, 1980, He was a former firefighter who was known for his loving, kind, and big heart for all.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Margaret Isom; and by his great-nephew, Gabriel Johnson.

Eric is survived by his daughter, Zendaya Isom; sister, Teresa Battering (Donnie) of London; brothers, Rick Eaton (Kevin) of Huntington, WV, Chuck Eaton (Jewell) of Irvin, and Greg Ison of Corbin; nieces and nephews; Timothy "Joey" Johnson (Theresa), Shanna Eaton (Brandon), Tara Eaton, Ashley Battering all of Corbin; Leah Rosengarten (Kelby) of Ohio, Shyrene Hoskins (Cody) of Corbin, and Dalton Eaton of Pennsylvania; and by a host of great nieces and great nephews, who will all miss him.

Visitation and funeral will be private at the Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home, with Pastor Ronnie Smith officiating.

Burial will be at Cumberland Memorial Gardens. Serving as pall bearers will be Timothy "Joey" Johnson, Donnie Battering, Jonathan Johnson, Greg Ison, Paxton Battering, and Ashley Battering.
