Effilee McHargue

Effilee McHargue, aged 91, passed away peacefully on Sunday September 15, 2024, at Laurel Heights in London, Kentucky. 

Born on May 28, 1933, in Blackstar, Kentucky, Effilee was a devoted homemaker, dedicating her life to caring for her family with love and grace. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jasper Cecil McHargue; parents, Virgil Helton and Arah Mae Pridemore Helton; daughter, Iris Bengie Love; brothers, Virgil H. Helton, Clem F. Helton, and Ricky A. Helton; and by a sister, Joy Helton.

Effilee is survived by her children, J.C. McHargue (Sherry), Sharon Byrd, and Angelia Foster (Ray), and Victor McHargue, sisters Debbie Day and Cathy Poracky, sister-in-law Lois Helton; 15 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, and by several nieces and nephews including a special nephew, Darrell Helton.

Visitation will be held from 11 am until 1 pm on Friday September 20, 2024, at the Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home, where his funeral service will be held at 1 pm with Rev. Randy Mcpherion. Burial will follow in the McHargue Cemetery in Laurel County, KY.
