Edvard Grande

Edvard Grande, age 76, of Gray, passed away the morning of November 21, 2016 at his home following a brief illness.
He leaves his wife of 32 years, Janie Grande; two sons and stepson, Neil Grande, Edward Grande and Mickey Bingham, of Corbin; two daughters, Jane Grande-Allen, of Houston, Texas and Alison Cheek, of Lexington, Kentucky; five grandchildren; and many close friends.
He was born on February 27, 1940 in Leksvik, Norway, the son of Elias and Ingrid Grande. Leaving Norway, he went on to obtain a Ph.D. in Aeronautics and Astronautics from the University of Washington in 1971. During his time in Kentucky, he worked as a Professional Engineer and Surveyor.
He enjoyed spending time with family on his farm, history, classical music, and writing. He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Corbin.
Visitation is scheduled for Friday, November 25, from 6-9 PM at Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home in Corbin. Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 26, at 12:00 Noon at the funeral home with Pastor Jeff Frost officiating.
Burial will be in the Pine Hill Cemetery.
