Earl Patterson, Jr., age 70, of London, KY, passed away on Saturday, April 26, 2025, at St. Joseph London.
Born in Dewitt, KY on March 31, 1955, Earl was a smart and funny individual whose love for his family was as vast as the cosmos he explored through Star Trek. He had an unquenchable passion for this iconic series, from watching Spock’s logical dilemmas to assembling intricate plastic models of the Starship Enterprise.
A graduate of St. Camillus Academy, Earl was a dedicated and hardworking man, spending nearly four decades as a forklift operator with CTA Acoustics. His diligence earned him a reputation of reliability and excellence. Yet, despite his achievements, Earl remained humble and approachable, always ready with a witty joke or a thoughtful gesture.
He found joy in the simple things in life, cherishing the companionship of his beloved pets and the warm embrace of his family. In Earl, we had a beacon of light, a source of laughter, and a wellspring of wisdom. He will be remembered for his unique blend of humor, intelligence, and compassion.
Earl was preceded in death by his father, Earl Patterson, Sr.; sister, Katrina Bennett; and grandparents, John and Kelsey Messer.
He is survived by his loving wife, Mary Patterson; mother, Gene Messer Begley; sister, Barbara Sherman (Charles); and by a host of nieces, nephews, family, and many friends.
