Drucilla Darnell Walters

Drucilla Darnell Taft Walters, age 73, of Corbin, KY, passed away on Sunday, September 13, 2026, at Baptist Health Corbin.

Born in Corbin, KY, she was the daughter of the late William Edward Taft and Frances Jewell Chumley Taft. Drucilla enjoyed crocheting and singing, but above all, she loved her family. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, and she especially cherished the time she spent with her grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Leland “Lee” Walters, Sr., and her son, Leland Walters, Jr.

She is survived by her daughter, Annitra Goble (Justin); brother, Bill Taft (Deborah); grandchildren, Matthew, Cassandra, Alice, Tamika, Leland III, Nathan, Hunter, and McKenzee; seven great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews who will cherish her memory.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 16, 2026, at Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home.

Her funeral service will begin at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 17, 2026, at Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home with Rev. Greg McClain officiating. 

Burial will follow at Rest Haven Cemetery in Corbin, KY.
