Dorothy W. Partin

Dorothy Partin, age 93, a beacon of faith and love, passed away on Tuesday, May 20, 2025, at her home in Corbin, Kentucky. 

She was born on August 5, 1931, in Pineville, Kentucky. Dorothy's love for her community and dedication to her family will be remembered by all who knew her. A woman of immense strength, Dorothy's spirit was as captivating as her life story. Dorothy was a retired practical nurse from Pineville Hospital. Her compassion and caring nature were a testament to her strong Christian values. 

She was a devoted member of the Calvary Baptist Church, where she found solace and strength in her faith. She savored her quiet moments reading her Bible, drawing wisdom and comfort from its pages. In her free time, Dorothy had a fondness for working puzzles and watching her beloved soap operas on TV, usually while savoring a Diet Pepsi. Her unique charm made her a joy to be around, and her memory will surely live on through the many lives she touched. 

She was preceded in death by her husband, John Frank Partin Jr in 2012; her parents, William Watson and Cordia Nicely Watson; a brother, Everett Watson and by her sisters, Martha Brown and Marie Hensley. 

Dorothy is survived by her beloved daughter, Kaye Middleton and husband Harrison; stepsons, Jimmy Partin and Elijah Partin; grandchildren, Jonathan Middleton, Lauren Blevins, and Heaven Blevins; step grandchildren, James Partin, Sondra Gross, Rhonda Holsey, Nicole Centers, and Gabrielle Kinser; several great grandchildren; and by a sister-in-law, Sylvia Tinsley. 

Visitation for Dorothy Partin will be held from 12-1 pm on Thursday, May 22, 2025, at the Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home, where her funeral service will be held at 1 pm with Rev. Kevin Roach and Brandon Azbill officiating.

 Burial will follow in the Brafford Cemetery in Gray, Kentucky.

In lieu of flowers, donations are requested to be made in her memory to Calvary Baptist Church, 96 Calvary Church Road, Corbin, Kentucky 40701.
