Doris Mae Allen

Doris Mae Allen, 73, of Corbin passed away Saturday evening, December 3, 2016 at her home.
She was a daughter of the late Clarence and Fannie Sams Dixon of Gray. Her son Darrell Dewayne Jones, brothers Bill and Lonnie Dixon, and sister Barbara Rose also preceded her in death.
Doris is survived by her husband of 46 years Vernus Allen; a son Doyle Jones; granddaughters Amy Humphrey and Emily Jones; great grandchildren Jake and Lexa Humphrey, and Simon Purdon; brothers Russell, Allen, Joey, and Billy Dixon; and sisters Wilma Haggard, Shirley Newby, and Linda Burke.
Doris and Vernus had owned and operated the Ridge Cocktail Lounge in Cincinnati for many years. She was a former board member of the Buckeye Tavern Association. Her other interests included cooking, gardening, shopping, and her pets.
She had requested cremation, and the family will plan services later.
