Doris Jean Hollins

Doris Jean Wilson Hollins, age 81, of Corbin, KY, passed away on Friday, March 6, 2026, in Rockholds, KY.

Born in Corbin, KY, she was the daughter of the late Charlie Wilson and Edith Mayne Wilson. Doris lived a life centered on family, hard work, and the simple joys of home. She loved cooking for those she cared about and spent many hours crocheting and quilting. She also enjoyed tending to her garden and flower beds and preserving the harvest through canning. For many years, she worked alongside her husband at Corbin Denture Center. Above all, Doris cherished her family and the time spent together.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Gary Ray Hollins; brother, Clifford Wilson; sister, Jenny Wilson; and granddaughter, Laura Carter.

She is survived by her children, Barb Bennett (Rodney), James Allen Carter, Charles Carter (Jonneé), Beverly Carter (Eddie), Christy Rookard (Robert), Renee Lawson (Mike), and Michael Carter (Brandi), Tiffany Logan (David).

She is also survived by her grandchildren, Brittany Quick (Lawson), Ryan Lawson (Kelsey), Chase Lawson (Hannah), Madalynn Lawson, Coby Cima (Meredith), Sierra Carter, Chloe Carter, Brian Spence, Jamie Carter, Tabitha Meadors, and Christopher Meadors; great-grandchildren, Brianna Jones, JJ Jones, Kyden Russell, Louis Cima, Nico Cima, Lucy Lawson, Landon Carter-Vanzant, Laiken Carter-Vanzant, Ember Carter-Vanzant, and Levi Vanzant, with another great-grandchild, Wesley Quick, expected soon; brother, Raymond Wilson (Shirley); sister-in-law, Ann Wilson; and many extended family members and friends.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Tiffany Bennett for the love and care she provided to Doris.

Visitation will be held from 6:00–9:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 10, 2026, at Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home. Her funeral service will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, March 11, 2026, at the funeral home with Rev. Cecil Langford officiating.

Burial will follow at Pine Hill Cemetery in Corbin, KY.
