Doris Jean Back

Doris Jean Back of Casselberry, Florida, passed away on Thursday, January 8, 2026, at the age of 76. 

She was born on April 4, 1949, in Corbin, Kentucky, where she grew up as the youngest daughter of Allen and Ora Wilson McCreary.

She graduated from Lynn Camp High School and attended Eastern Kentucky University. Doris was an Administrative Assistant for Social Services in London, Kentucky, and was a devoted and passionate Kentucky wildcat fan, cheering Big Blue with unwavering loyalty.

Doris had a lifelong interest in genealogy and took great pride in tracing her family history. Her love of decorating reflected her eye for beauty and her desire to make every space warm and welcoming, especially for family and friends. She enjoyed gardening, collecting antiques, and had a love for Motown music and a caring and open heart for animals.

Doris was preceded in death by her parents, husband Paul Back, and sister Phyllis Woolum. She is survived by her daughter, Jennifer Lynn (Todd) Staats of Casselberry, Florida, son Stephen Todd Davis of Kaohsiung, Taiwan, grandson Maxwell Staats, sister Betty Reynolds, and several nieces and nephews.

A graveside funeral service will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, May 2, 2026, at Pine Hill Cemetery in Corbin, KY.
