Carol Sue Reeves Helton

Carol Sue Reeves Helton, age 78, of Corbin, KY, passed away on Saturday, July 25, 2026, at Hillcrest Health and Rehabilitation Center in Corbin.

Born in Corbin, KY, she was the daughter of the late Steely Reeves and Riece Reeves. Carol worked for many years as a hairstylist in the Corbin area, where she enjoyed visiting with others and helping them feel their best.

Carol enjoyed shopping, flowers, and gardening. She was a wonderful cook and especially enjoyed baking for those she loved. More than anything, she cherished time spent with her family. She was also a member of Steele’s Chapel Christian Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, David Helton; brothers, Robert “Bobby” Reeves, Gerald Reeves, and Layton Reeves; and her nephew, Justin Reeves.

She is survived by her daughter, Melissa Helton Baker; grandchildren, Kristen Baker and Tyler Baker; brothers, Larry Reeves, Roger Reeves, and Willard Reeves (Mitzi); and many nieces, nephews, and friends who will cherish her memory.

Visitation will be held from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 30, 2026, at Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home, where her funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Andrew Darden officiating. 

Burial will follow at Worley Cemetery in Corbin, KY.

In lieu of flowers, the family is accepting donations to assist with expenses. All donations will go toward assisting with expenses, and the family will receive a list of donors.
