Brenda Sue Kiskaden

Brenda Sue Kiskaden, passed away on Tuesday, March 11, 2025, at her home in Corbin, Kentucky. 

Born on March 20, 1947, in Louisville, Kentucky, a daughter of the late William Kenneth Compton and Eulah Clotine Messer Compton. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Kenneth Ray Compton; sister, Delila Francine Dole; and by her lifelong partner, Johnny Lee Rapier. 

Brenda carved her own path as a successful business owner. Her entrepreneurial spirit led her to own and operate a video store. Her love for storytelling, both cinematic and literary, was contagious, sparking engaging conversations with patrons and friends alike. It was not rare to find Brenda engrossed in a book or glued to the Travel Channel, her thirst for knowledge and adventure ever insatiable. Her weekends were often spent hunting for hidden treasures at yard sales, a pastime that she adored. 

Brenda's radiant life will continue to be celebrated by her loving daughters, Laura Lee Brock, and Stacey Renee Blevins (Milton); grandchildren, Michael Kiskaden, Kayla Kiskaden, Jessica Eastridge, Gracie Kiskaden, Jason Kiskaden, Daniel Hinkle, and Kyle Brock; five great grandchildren, and she was awaiting her sixth. She is also survived by many other family and friends, including a special cousin who was like a daughter, Joie Ledington. 

A memorial service will be held privately by her family. Arrangements by the Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home.
