Bobbie Jean Cook, born October 18, 1944, in Knox County, Kentucky, passed away on May 23, 2025, at McDowell Place in Danville, Kentucky. Bobbie was a woman of faith, strength, and boundless love. Her life was a living testament to her favorite Scripture verse, Philippians 4:13, "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." She lived these words every day, serving as a beacon of compassion, kindness, and unyielding faith. 

Bobbie was more than just a mother or a parishioner; she was a pillar of her community. As the wife of a Pastor, she served alongside her husband for many years, providing spiritual guidance and support to numerous local churches. Her humility, grace, and wisdom touched the lives of many and left an indelible imprint on the hearts of those she encountered. Her service to others was not merely a duty, but a joy that radiated in her every action. In her later years, she continued to inspire and uplift others. Her wide smile, infectious laughter, and warm heart will be missed by many. 

She was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. James William Cook Sr.; parents, M C and Myrtle Brown; daughter, Anna Cook; and by her nephew, Todd Brown. 

Bobbie is survived by her son, Delbert Monhollen (Erica); adopted daughter, Joann Salley; son James William Cook Jr. (Christina); daughter Gail Cook; grandchildren, Justice and Rob, Aly, Parker (Liv), Whitney, Brandy, Nikki, Tonya, Jamie, Montanna, Brittany, Kasey, and Erica; her brother, Clarence Brown (Georgia); nephew, Rick Brown; niece, Susie Brown; niece, Ashley McDonald; niece, Bonnie Jewel Brown; nephews, Dillion and Chase Brown; sister in laws, Georgetta Smith, Brenda Dillion, and Sandy Loudermilk; and by her friends and caregivers at Heritage Hospice and McDowell Place in Danville, Kentucky.

Visitation for Bobbie will be held from 12 -2 PM on Friday, May 30, 2025, at the Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home, where her funeral service will be held at 2 PM. with pastor Bryan Montgomery Officiating. 

Burial will follow in the Brown Cemetery in Gray, Kentucky. Serving as pallbearers will be Parker Monhollen, Rick Brown, Chase Brown, Dylan Brown, Ron Moberly, and Rob Conatser.
