She attended Cumberland College, where she earned her bachelor’s degree in biology, and later attended the University of Kentucky, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in health science. She went on to earn her master’s degree and became a physical therapist.
For 20 years, Beverly worked as a physical therapist at Baptist Health Corbin. It was more than a job to her. She truly enjoyed her work and cared deeply about helping people through it.

On May 25, 1995, she married the love of her life, Jay Carter, at Pleasant View Methodist Church in Emlyn, KY. Together, they built a life centered around faith, family, and love.
Of all the things Beverly accomplished, her greatest joy was being Jay’s wife and being a mother to Drew and Ashten. She was genuine, protective, faithful, and steady in her love for her family. She cared deeply, loved fully, and gave herself to the people and work that mattered most to her.
She was preceded in death by her father, James “Bud” Edward Orsborn, and her father-in-law, Bob Carter.
