Betty I. Medlin

Betty I. Medlin, 82, of Gray passed away Friday, December 30, 2016 in the UK Hospital at Lexington.
A native of Gray, she was a daughter of the late Willard and Dora Wright Helton. She was a retired cook from West Knox Elementary School and was the oldest member of Candle Ridge Baptist Church.
She is survived by her husband, Fred E."Willard" Medlin; two children: Wanda Smith (Jerry) and Allen Medlin; six grandchildren: Natasha Henderson, Ashley Rindler, Laura Brown, Brandon Smith, Wesley King and Gabby Medlin; and 13 great grandchildren; two sisters: Peggy Hutton and Myrna Elliott; family friend: Lisa Carollo; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by two daughters: Debra Medlin and Sheila King, as well as three sisters: Norma Helton, Maxine Steele, and Bonnie Engle; and three brothers: James Helton, Harold Helton, and Glenn Helton.
Funeral service will be at 2PM Tuesday, Jan. 3, at Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home with Rev. Keaton Smith and Rev. Sam Moore officiating. Burial will be in Candle Ridge Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6-9 PM on Monday, Jan. 2, at the funeral home.
