Barry Pryse

Barry Lee Pryse, age 71 of Corbin, Kentucky, passed away on Tuesday March 17, 2026, at his home.

Born on July 5th, 1954, in Hamilton, OH, Barry moved to Beattyville, Kentucky, before he moved to his current home in Corbin, Kentucky.

Barry was preceded in death by his parents, Elta and Geneva "Bo" Pryse, and by his grandparents, Beulah and William Pryse, and John and Haley Sizemore.

He was a man known for his enduring spirit, unwavering loyalty, and love for the open road. He had a fulfilling career as a truck driver that spanned over 45 years. Barry's dedication to his profession was unwavering, having driven for Combs Petroleum, K.P.S., before retiring from Pilot Trucking.

He is survived by his Wife, Tina Pryse; son Keith Pryse of Jackson, KY; daughters, Joy Fox (James), and Traci Pyrse all of Beattyville; grandchildren, Julie Hollon of Jackson KY, Weston Bo Hollon of Jackson, KY, Chase Pryse of Booneville, KY, and Harper Moore of Beattyville, KY; his "second" son, John Pfouts (Crystal) of Corbin, KY, and their children, Timothy and Dillon Pfoutz; brother-in-law, Edward Smith (JoAnn) of Corbin; sister-in-law, Tinkle Brown of Corbin; and by many nieces, nephews, and great, great great nieces and nephews.

Visitation for Barry Pryse, will be held from 4pm until 6pm on Friday March 20, 2026, at the Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home, where his funeral service will be held at 6 pm with David Saylor and William Owens officiating.

Private burial will be held later in Riverview Cemetery in Beattyville, KY. Honorary pall bearers will be Edward Smith, Kenneth Walker, Charles Andrew, Bobby Bowman, Clarence Denton, Woody Kelley, Reginold Smith, and David Smith.
