Arizona Slone

Arizona Slone, 84, of Corbin, passed away on Sunday, November 1, 2015, in Tennessee.
Born in Woodbine, she was the daughter of the late Hayes Cox and Irene White Cox. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Evans Slone; two infant daughters; and three brothers, Sammy Mitchell, Junior Cox, and Charlie Cox.
Arizona had worked as a waitress, cook, and hostess at local restaurants, and was Pentecostal by faith. She was the backbone of her family and loved them very much.
She is survived by six children: Harry Slone, Walter Slone, Charlie Slone, Roy Slone, Beatrice Slone, and James Cox; eleven grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; two brothers Rondal Cox and Sherman Cox; and three nieces: Zelda, Cathy, and Carolyn.
Funeral service will be at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, Nov. 5, at Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Oak Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 - 9:00 P.M. on Wednesday at the funeral home.
