Alberta Griffith Gail King

June 10, 1939 — July 21, 2024

Alberta Gail King (Griffith), known by her loved ones as Mammaw Berta, passed away on July 21, 2024, in Corbin, Kentucky, at the age of 85. Born on June 10, 1939, in Leslie County, Kentucky, Alberta dedicated her life to her family and her community.

Alberta retired from her role as an Administrative Assistant at Williamsburg Independent School, where she was respected and loved by her colleagues and students alike. Her career was marked by kindness and an unwavering commitment to the support and education of young people.

Alberta's faith was a cornerstone of her existence. She was a devout Christian who lived her beliefs through her actions, embodying generosity and compassion. Her family and friends will remember her as a woman who loved God wholeheartedly and served others selflessly.

She was a woman of many joys, finding pleasure in singing, bickering with her best friend George, and taking long car rides. Above all, Alberta cherished the time spent with her grandchildren, who she loved with all her heart.

Alberta is survived by her son, Clark King (Jennifer) of Corbin, Ky. Granddaughter, Beth Richardson (Andy) of Corbin, Ky, Great-Grandsons, Andrew and Lucas Richardson; and her brother, Reno Griffith (Doris) of Burksville, Ky.

In accordance with her wishes, Alberta’s family will hold a private ceremony to honor her life and legacy. Her spirit and love will forever resonate with those who were fortunate enough to know her. She is now reunited with her mother and father, fishing and singing with them once again.
