Robert Coleman Edwards

Robert Coleman Edwards, age 85, of Corbin, passed away on Friday, August 19, 2011, at his residence. Born in Bell County, he was the son of the late Pleaz Edwards and Sarah Jane Brown Edwards. He had worked in a saw mill, was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, and was a member and deacon at Shady Grove Church of God. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Irene Eversole Edwards; sons, Pleaz, Danny, and Donnie Edwards; and daughter, Thelma Edwards. He is survived by his wife, Joann Edwards; sons, Johnny and David Edwards; daughters, Sarah Robinson, Roberta Keen, Francis Jones, Mary Williams and Jo Beth Martin; step-sons, Granville, Eddie and James Harris; 35 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren, all who mourn his passing. Funeral service will be at 2pm Tuesday, August 23, 2011, at Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home with Rev. Archie Henson officiating. Burial will be in Stansbury Cemetery.
