June A. Johnson, 78, passed away on Wednesday, April 13, 2016, at Hospice Compassionate Care Center in Richmond, KY.
Born in Milford, Kentucky, June was the daughter of the late Arthur Stanley Edwards and Jeanie Orr Rawlings Edwards. She had worked as secretary at Northwestern Mutual Insurance in Corbin, and had belonged to First United Methodist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Lee Johnson; brother Lowell Edwards; and nephews Russell Richie, Jr., David Richie, and Brandon Edwards.
June is survived by her daughters Lee Ann York and husband Denver of Richmond, KY, and Laura Smith and husband Doug of Columbus, OH; grandchildren Justin York of Little Rock, AK, and Jordan Smith, Elijah Smith and Caleb Smith, all of Columbus, OH; sister Ruth Richie of Danville, KY; brother Dr. Darwin Edwards and wife Donna of Louisville, KY; and niece Danielle Edwards of Louisville, KY.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 - 7:00 P.M. on Sunday, April 17th, at the Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home.
A private graveside service with Gus Clouse officiating will be held Monday, April 18, with burial in the Pine Hill Cemetery.
