James E. Morton

James E. Morton, age 71, of Corbin, passed away on Friday July 29, 2011 at St. Joseph Hospital in Lexington. He was a retired Social Worker from the Kentucky Dept. of Human Resources. He was preceded in death by his Mother, Lela Mae Messer Brown; Father, James F. Morton; and Grandmother, Pearl Messer. He is survived by his Brother, Michael Morton and wife Betty of Corbin; Nephews, Tony Morton and wife Heather; Scott Morton and wife Teresa; and Steven Morton and wife Kim; Niece, Michelle Morton Miller and husband Matthew; Special Friends, Debbie Steely, Jane Parks, David Steely, and Billie Humphrey. Visitation will be on Sunday July 31, 2011 from 1pm until the time of his funeral service at 2pm at the Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Pine Hill Cemetery in Corbin.
