Fred Edwin "Willard" Medlin; age 84, of Gray, Kentucky, passed away on Thursday January 11, 2018 at the UK Medical Center in Lexington.
He was born in Gray and was the owner of the Allen Clay Coal Company; He was a member of the Candle Ridge Baptist Church and a US Army veteran of Korea.
Willard was preceded in death by his Wife, Betty Medlin; Daughters, Sheila King and Debra Medlin; Parents, Fred and Eula Engle Medlin; Brother, Robert Medlin, and by a Sister, Zacquelee Aulman.
He is survived by his Children; Allen Medlin (Lisa Corollo), and Wanda Smith (Jerry); Grandchildren, Natasha Henderson, Ashley Rindler, Laura Brown, Brandon Smith, Wesley King, and Gabby Medlin; Brothers, Claude Medlin (Opal); Roland Medlin (Helen); and Wiley Medlin; Sisters, Marjorie Christine Humphrey; Adean Miller, Wilma Wilber (Gardner); Faye Poynter (Larry); Linda Wagers, Yvonne Wilson, and Cecelia Yvette Chaney (Wayne); 16 great Grandchildren, and by numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends, including special friends, JR Smith, Willard Rucker, Gary and Adrienne Warhurst.
Funeral service will be held at 2pm on Tuesday January 16, 2018 at the Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home with Rev. Sam Moore officiating
Burial will follow in the Candle Ridge Cemetery in Gray, KY with military honors by the American Legion Post #88 in Corbin.
