Finley Shorter

Finley Shorter, age 66, of Corbin, passed away on Tuesday, September 30, 2014, at Baptist Health.
Born in Bell County, Kentucky, Finley was the son of the late Henry and Elva Rose Shorter. He had worked as a landscaper and was a U.S. Army veteran.
In addition to his parents, Finley was preceded in death by daughters, Melissa Wyatt and Bobbie Jo Shorter; brothers, Earl Shorter and Jim Shorter; and sister, Mary Shorter Eagleson.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Hollin Shorter; children: David Shorter, Michael Shorter, and Betty Bray; a host of grandchildren; brothers, Riley Shorter and Bob Shorter; and two sisters, Lola Wilder and Erma Lee Wesfall.
Funeral service will be at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, October 3, at Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Hollin Cemetery with military graveside honors by American Legion Post 88.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm on Thursday, Oct. 2, at Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home.
