Doris Rose Ratliff Godfrey

Doris Rose Ratliff Godfrey, 88, of Louisville and formerly of Corbin, passed away on Saturday, October 20, 2018, at Baptist Health Louisville.
Born in Corbin, Doris was the daughter of the late John C. and Lily Mae Rose. She had been a bookkeeper, and loved bowling for over 50 years, and Nascar and traveling. She was a former member of Piney Grove Baptist Church  before becoming a member of Hopewell Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands Elwood Ratliff and Charlie Godfrey; and siblings Rita Eads, Charlie Rose, Billy Rose, Mildred Sumner, Walter (Doc) Rose, Ernest B. Rose,  and Clara Hammons.
Doris is survived by her children: John Ratliff (Linda),  Karen Graham (Skip), and Kenny Ratliff (Sheila); seven grandchildren: Adam Ratliff and Jason Ratliff, Brooke Gebhart, Amy Bistarky, Adrianne McDonald, Doug Graham, and Chad Graham; 12 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends to mourn her passing.
Funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm on  Thursday, October 25, 2018, at Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home with Rev. Dennis McCoy and Rev. Shane Martin officiating. Burial will be in the Pine Hill Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 12:00-2:00 pm on Thursday at the funeral home.
